About the role
A growing inpatient neurology program in Arlington is hiring an acute care nurse practitioner or physician assistant for its neuro hospitalist team. You will round on and admit high-acuity neurology and stroke patients, perform detailed neurological assessments, join stroke responses, interpret diagnostics and plan discharges, working closely with neurologists, intensivists, neurosurgeons and hospitalists. Conditions include ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, seizures and status epilepticus, encephalopathy, neurotrauma, neuromuscular disorders and post-operative neurosurgical care. Pay rises with neuro experience. The employer offers medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) with match, paid time off, CME support and malpractice coverage.
What you need
- ACNP certification or PA-C
- Active Texas APRN or PA license, or eligibility
- DEA registration or eligibility
- Current BLS
- At least 2 years of inpatient acute care experience
Strongly preferred
- Neuro ICU, stroke or neurocritical care experience
- Inpatient neurology or neuro hospitalist experience
- Neurosurgery ICU or hospitalist experience with neurological patients
- NIHSS, ENLS or other neuro certification
